Despite the rain, the Nanuet Chamber’s 6th Annual Halloween Spooktacular was held inside Miller Elementary School. As a number of other local events had been cancelled or postponed, turnout was exceptionally high with more than 300 children, and their respective parents coming through. The Nanuet Chamber offered complimentary “trick or treat” bags for children to use while trick or treating. Huntington Learning Center also provided some of the “Trick or treat” bags for distribution.
There were vendors and charities offering “trick or treat” candy as well as items to purchase. Inside the gymnasium there was a large bouncy house, a live DJ (which from time to time we watched a number of children dancing) and a number of games where small prizes were awarded. In the cafeteria there was face painting and tattoo applications. The Nanuet Public Library had a representative reading stories to children. The Chamber also offered free pumpkins for children who were then able to paint and decorate and take home with them.
The Nanuet Chamber thanks it’s sponsors for this event: the Nanuet School District, Tumble Bee Gymnastics, Nanuet Creamery and Wegman’s for supporting this event in various ways.
