September 20 – The Nanuet Chamber organized a joint Chamber Alliance breakfast and networking event, “Power Circles, Building Your Busness in Rockland” at the DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton in Nanuet. The event was held from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM and consisted initially of networking circles by groups of interest e.g. Accounting, Legal, Retail, Services and Consulting, Home Based Business, Non Profits, Healthcare, Financial Servises and more. The event was attended by 90 people from across the county and a wide variety of businesses and included members of almost all the other Chambers of Commerce in the County.

From 9:10 AM to 10:30 AM a panel discussion was moderated by Jeremy Schulman, President/CEO of the Rockland Economic Development Corporation focusing on what the various panelists were doing to help promote and develop business in Rockland County, including their ongoing Transit Oriented Development (TOD) projects. The panelists were:

  • Ed Day, Rockland County Executive
  • George Hoehmann, Clarkstown Supervisor
  • Joe Simoes, Clarkstown Town Planner
  • Chris Day, Orangetown Supervisor
  • Don Hammond, Nyack Mayor
  • Lucy Redzeposki, Director of Rockland County Tourism
