June 2018

June 3 – Our 5th Annual Street Fair was held on Main Street/S. Middletown Road in Nanuet. The day was slightly cooler and cloudy without a drop of precipitation the entire day (after two consecutive years of rain – we no longer use the 4 letter word — R^*n) which is the only thing the Chamber can not control. The Street Fair expanded one block to Orchard Street this year. We had almost 200 vendors and police estimates of close to 18,000 local area residents who walked thru the fair to shop and enjoy fun times. The 500 free bags were all given away by noon. We enhanced the sound system throughout the entire Street Fair so everyone could hear the day’s entertainment and repeated announcements thanking our Sapphire, Gold, Silver and Event Sponsors. New this year we added a mini brunch of free mimosas and small danish from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM which attracted over 250 people to come out early. Those who attended were provided free raffle tickets by the Nanuet Chamber giving away twenty $10 gift certificates to be used with any vendor at the fair. The raffle was part of the recognition of our new Nanuet town slogan, “Small Town, Big Heart!” The Nanuet Chamber also gave away almost 1,000 red bracelets with our town slogan imprinted on them. We added an antique car show on Prospect Street which we plan to enhance next year. There was also a flash mob dance (at Market Street) that had attendees joining in.

As we only do one Street Fair a year, we aim to add or do something extra each year to enhance the fun and attraction. We are already planning several new additions for next year.

Mark your calendars! our 6th annual Street Fair is scheduled for June 2, 2019 (always the first Sunday in June). We generally sell out spaces every year, so if you are interested in participating as a sponsor or exhibitor, sign up early. We are always looking for and depend on our generous sponsors to enable us to add new attractions and offers. We will begin posting details and registration forms in the fall of this year for our 2019 event. Please continue to check our website for updated information.
