Committees

Below is a summary of our committees. Please consider joining one to meet others, network and build our community.

Outreach Committee: Focus on recruitment of new businesses and residents as well as identifying membership benefits. This committee will also oversee communications and marketing including maintaining the Chamber website, Facebook and Twitter feed and as well as communicating through press releases and chamber mailings to the community at large. This committee will also work with the Nanuet School District to develop a Student Action subcommittee.

comittees-1Business Empowerment & Programming Committee — Responsible for arranging seminars and programs to help local businesses grow as well as general programming for the group and putting together the annual calendar for the Chamber.

Beautification Committee The goal of the Beautification committee is to identify areas throughout Nanuet that could use improvement and then seek ways to implement clean up or revitalization as well as pursue grant opportunities.

Government Affairs Committee Members take turns representing the Chamber at Clarkstown Board meetings as well as appropriate Rockland County Legislature meetings, and maintain contact with local politicians about matters effecting Nanuet’s downtown. Members are responsible for updating the Board and the group on matters that will affect Nanuet.

Restaurant and Retail Committee – Nanuet is home to many restaurants and shops; chains as well as locally owned establishments. One of the goals of the Chamber is to bring together those businesses to host events that will benefit both the business owners in terms of visibility and sales and the residents in terms of fun events and special offers.

comittees-2Long Range Planning – The Long Range Planning Committee will look at ways to improve Nanuet well into the future by establishing goals and identifying ways to reach them and creating a timeline for completion.
