Dear Friends,
First and foremost, the boards of Nanuet and Beyond and the Nanuet Chamber of Commerce wish everyone safety and good health to everyone during this COVID-19 crisis. Both our websites offer news links to local, county, federal and health organizations for updates on the COVID-19 status.
We also recognize the great sacrifices and countless hours our medical personal and first responders are putting in to respond to patients with this virus.
We understand this is a difficult time from both a health and economic standpoint. To that end, Nanuet and Beyond in conjunction with the Nanuet Chamber is asking for your help, in any way you can, to support our healthcare professionals. We are currently reaching out to local restaurants which can donate food that we can bring to local hospitals for the staff, many of whom are working extended shifts with little time for breaks.
We are arranging for pizzas, bagels, snacks, cookies, trays of wraps, etc. that we will be taking to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern and Nyack Hospital in Nyack. We also hope to provide for local first responders as well. In addition to arranging food donations or purchasing food ourselves, through a matching donation by Computuners of Nanuet we are donating $1,000 to both Meals on Wheels and People to People. Their buying power will result in providing 4 times the amount of food either the Nanuet Chamber or Nanuet and Beyond could acquire with those donations ourselves.
As none of us have any idea how long this health crisis will last, we are reaching out to the public for your assistance to make whatever tax-deductible donation you can to Nanuet and Beyond and earmark the contribution for COVID-19 (or virus or food, etc.) on our Donation page so we will be able to continue our deliveries to hospitals, first responders, etc. or have the ability to make further donations to other charitable organizations such as Meals on Wheels or People to People.
We also recognize there may be seniors, families or even businesses in need (food deliveries, gloves, etc.). Please advise us. We will resah out to see what we can do to find vounteers, etc.
