The Greater Nanuet Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to promoting and supporting the business, civic, and cultural vitality of Nanuet through advocacy, leadership and networking to create a vibrant, prosperous, environmentally sound, and strong community.
The Greater Nanuet Chamber of Commerce is working hard to serve the business owners and residents of Nanuet. We are looking forward to an outstanding year and with your help we will continue to grow.

Below is a summary of our committees. Please consider joining one to meet others, network and build our community.
Outreach Committee: Focus on recruitment of new businesses and residents as well as identifying membership benefits. This committee will also oversee communications and marketing including maintaining the Chamber website, Facebook and Twitter feed and as well as communicating through press releases and chamber mailings to the community at large. This committee will also work with the Nanuet School District to develop a Student Action subcommittee.
Business Empowerment & Programming Committee -- Responsible for arranging seminars and programs to help local businesses grow as well as general programming for the group and putting together the annual calendar for the Chamber.
Beautification Committee - The goal of the Beautification committee is to identify areas throughout Nanuet that could use improvement and then seek ways to implement clean up or revitalization as well as pursue grant opportunities.
Government Affairs Committee - Members take turns representing the Chamber at Clarkstown Board meetings as well as appropriate Rockland County Legislature meetings, and maintain contact with local politicians about matters effecting Nanuet’s downtown. Members are responsible for updating the Board and the group on matters that will affect Nanuet.
Restaurant and Retail Committee – Nanuet is home to many restaurants and shops; chains as well as locally owned establishments. One of the goals of the Chamber is to bring together those businesses to host events that will benefit both the business owners in terms of visibility and sales and the residents in terms of fun events and special offers.
Long Range Planning – The Long Range Planning Committee will look at ways to improve Nanuet well into the future by establishing goals and identifying ways to reach them and creating a timeline for completion.

March – June 2012 – meetings held to gauge interest in starting a Chamber
July 2012 -- the Greater Nanuet Chamber of Commerce was formed with a founding board
August 2012 – Board established By-Laws and Mission Statement and filed with NYS for 501c4 status with assistance from Clem Yeboah and ATax
September 2012 – the Chamber developed a logo and a website with the help of GMG Public Relations and formed committees; Business Empowerment/Programming; Beautification, Government Affairs, Restaurant/Retail and Long Range Planning
October 2012 - Chamber participated in “Make A Difference Rockland” event at the Nanuet High School
November 2012 - Chamber hosted Kickoff Event with an outstanding turn out
December 2012 - Chamber held its first Holiday Party at Growler & Gill preceded by well attended planning and committee meetings which established the goals for the coming months and years
January 2013 - Beautification Committee met with the Town of Clarkstown Planning Board and other Officials to discuss Economic Development Plans and how the Chamber‘s vision can help with the revitalization of Main Street; this meeting also inspired the newly formed sub-committee known as Main Street Revitalization
February 2013 - Chamber held a Tappan Zee Bridge update meeting with representatives of the Tappan Zee Constructors to discuss progress and answer questions and concerns
February 2013 -- Chamber held an Urban Planning Meeting at the Nanuet Library to bring attention to the zoning changes that would be proposed by the Town of Clarkstown; guest speakers were Councilwoman Stephanie Hausner and Town Planner Joe Simoes
March 2013 - Chamber attended the Keep Rockland Beautiful Leadership Breakfast to schedule Spring and Fall Nanuet cleanup events
March 2013 -- Chamber hosted a Business Marketing Panel Discussion led by GMG Public Relations and with speakers on various marketing topics
December 2012 – March 2013 – the Chamber participated in a food drive in coordination with Worldwide Community First Responder and delivered non-perishable foods to the Nanuet Family Resource Center
April 2013 -- Chamber participated in the Great American Cleanup by having board members participate in the Nanuet Clean-up Day
April 2013 -- Chamber held a networking event at Jimmy's on Main where The Shops at Nanuet presented an update on the project and answered questions
April 2013 -- Chamber again met with The Town of Clarkstown Planning Board where an investor interested in a possible build downtown was introduced to the Town Planners
April 2013 - Chamber participated in a Health Fair at the Nanuet Library coordinated by Legislator Aney Paul
May 2013 – Chamber held a networking and update event at Crossroads Restaurant
May 2013 - The Chamber was officially recognized by the IRS as a Section 501(c)(6) organization
June 2013 -- Chamber supported the Nanuet Family Fest at the District’s Outdoor Education Center and organized a health fair thanks to Worldwide Community First Responder and helped increase the number of vendors who participated
June 2013 – Chamber held another networking meeting at Nanuet Restaurant and elected five new members to the board
